Corporate Info

The EtonHouse Group is a Singapore-based educational group that provides educational services through International Schools, Pre-Schools and Early Childhood Teacher Education Courses in 12 countries across Asia.

Since its establishment in 1995, the Group has grown to more than 100 schools spreading across Singapore, China, India, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Myanmar and Middle East today. These schools are attended by children from diverse cultural backgrounds. Currently, over 10,000 children from more than 61 nationalities attend EtonHouse international schools or pre-schools. EtonHouse is also in the process of evaluating opportunities in other parts of Asia and beyond.

The schools have a common vision of developing empowered young individuals, enthusiastic life-long learners and confident global citizens of the future. Through its curriculum, EtonHouse strives to focus on pedagogical integrity and research based best practice, acknowledge and respond to each learner’s full potential and develop an authentic partnership with families and community.

The International School at Broadrick Road, the Pre-Schools in Newton and Orchard Road (now moved to Thomson) in Singapore and EtonHouse Suzhou, Wuxi and Nanjing in China are International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools. EtonHouse Thomson and Newton are the first stand-alone pre-schools to acquire the IB PYP World School authorisation in Singapore. These schools develop their curriculum based on the standards of the International Baccalaureate Programme.

In the Early Years, pedagogy developed by EtonHouse called Inquire-Think-Learn forms the curriculum. It invites children through authentic inquiry to construct understanding of the world in which they live. This has been inspired by research and international best practice from around the world and in particular the Reggio Emilia educational project of northern Italy. The children are engaged in learning experiences that promote the continuous development of the social, cognitive, emotional, physical and creative abilities. They are offered a range of opportunities to explore values, broaden their communication skills, collaborate, make personal choices, group problem solve, develop ideas and research information.

All EtonHouse primary schools have a strong literacy and numeracy focus, in conjunction with the strategies from the UK National Curriculum. Through carefully designed units of exploration offered within the framework of investigation, the conventional subjects of English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and Technology, The Arts (Music and Art), Personal and Social Development and Physical Education transcend boundaries and are offered in a genuine, inquiry based approach.

EtonHouse Education Centre
The EtonHouse Education Centre (EEC) is the professional development arm of EtonHouse. It focuses on research and development in education while providing continuous training, pedagogical support and maintaining quality in the development of best practices. Recently the EEC in conjunction with AECES brought the first Reggio Children conference to Singapore, titled The Reggio Emilia Approach to Education – Experiences in Dialogue. It was well attended by educators from around the Asia region and demonstrated the EtonHouse commitment to best practice in the field of Early Childhood Education. The EEC on a regular basis organises high quality international conferences. In October 2011, it organised a forum on ‘Creating Positive Learning Environments’ by speakers from Mia Mia in Australia. In 2012, the Reggio Conference organised by EEC ‘Provocations for Practice’ showcased a wide range of speakers who shared their experience of working with the principles of Reggio Emilia in different settings, drawing in a total of 400 delegates from 14 countries. For more details on past conferences, click here. The EEC continues to offer workshops and professional development opportunities to educators that help to strengthen the standards of practice in the early years profession.

Our goal at EtonHouse is to provide thoughtfully prepared learning environments, designed to stimulate the learning and development of children. We believe that children have a right to engage with a wide range of materials and resources designed to consolidate, extend and challenge their thinking.
